Association of Special Operations Professionals (ASOP) is an association of civilian and military professionals, united in a common goal to serve and support special operations concept and philosophy; dedicated to promote stability and peace locally, regionally and worldwide; committed to the needs of civilian and military Special Operations Forces for the protection of life, liberty and justice anytime and anyplace.

ASOP Objectives

  • Provide its full resources in support of an international Special Operations policy that will promote stability among nations and world peace.
  • Promote the study of Special Operations Forces (SOF), particularly through the encouragement of informed and intelligent discussion and facilitate cooperation among organizations or groups having similar interests in Special Operations.
  • Promote understanding and education in the field of Special Operations Forces.
  • Promote greater recognition of the SOF profession and to advocate policies that will advance the well-being and opportunity of those who pursue a SOF career.
  • Cultivate cordial relations and mutual understanding and support among SOF within the Department of Defense government and civilian agencies with SOF components.
  • Foster public relations and mutual understanding and support the legitimacy and credibility of SOF.
  • Develop internal programs and support other similar non-profit associations and/or organizations with programs to contribute both financial and other resources to the benefit of families of fallen or wounded heroes.
  • Provide a forum for the presentation of unique SOF equipment, material, supplies, and services.
  • Promote and perpetuate SOF traditions which contribute to esprit de corps and superior performance of duty.
  • Preserve and foster the spirit of fellowship among former, present, and future members of SOF and the Association and provide an organization through which they may unite in bonds of comradeship.
  • Produce a professional SOF publication devoted to the dissemination of information and ideas relating to the arts and science of SOF.
  • Present all association activities in a non-partisan manner, balancing security and synchronization.
  • Encourage and assist association members in the programs toward these goals and develop such programs that tend to strengthen national security and preserve a just and lasting peace.
  • Commemorate the memory of SOF personnel who gave their lives in the service to their country and provide support to their families.
